Chakra Body is a labor of sheer love. I completed the 30 x 60 inch oil painting in Alfred, NY, after 3 months of working in a kind of painting self-marathon. I began by taking photos of a woman that I pressed under a piece of glass. I selected a few photos, collaged them together and made a drawing on top using a straight edge and protractor. I would paint for 8-12 hour chunks of time with a paint brush about a quarter of an inch wide. I would enter into trance and an elevated feeling of ecstasy, not really sure where I was headed, but relishing in the moment. The style evolved every step of the way to become something very different then what I began with. Surely, if we could perceive ourselves more clearly, we would glow and undulate within the depth of shimmering light-color.
